0 PARLO the Robot : Now recognizes even Face and body

Remember PALRO the robot from Fujisoft and now the company has upgraded the robot's software to version 2.0, offering some impressive face, body and object tracking capabilities to it. PALRO is now able to identify a face and track it even if someone turns their head and can also identify a person's body at a distance while walking through a crowded room. It can easily turn its head to scan the room and walk to objects that it identifies. The robot is still pricey at $3,300, but if you don't have any money, you can still check out a video of PALRO in action after the jump :)

0 The super sized 58" multi touch tablet running via iPhone

The guys behind the iPhone-powered 58-inch multitouch table (think Microsoft Surface) have released a video demonstrating how the system works. Essentially, all you do is hook up your iPhone 4 to the table-top display and away you go. The iPhone 4 display is replicated on the 58-inch screen, and behaves the same way a normal iPhone would (save for the 17x size amplification, of course).

The two guys in the video seem to access the Springboard just fine, they swipe between pages and launch the Photos app. It doesn’t look like a fake, as many readers claimed. The iPhone also seems to be able to output UI elements on that bigger screen just fine.

Check out the video below to get a better impression of how it’s working so far. Although this is just a couple of dudes putting a good idea into effect, it would be awesome if we actually see this hit the market sometime down the road.

0 Signature Tablets the New Gadgets

Wacom, a well-known maker of tablets for artists and other input devices, took a big leap into the business world today with the unveiling of a new line of "signature" tablets, small electronic displays that use pen input largely to collect signatures for purchases, authorizations and paperless receipt generation. The new STU family comprises three tablets, all with pen input, that range from single-line monochrome to a five-inch color display.

The STU-300 ($200) uses a monochrome LED display (400x100 pixels) and uses 512 levels of pressure to make signatures unique as well as helping to ignore accidental input from hands or fingers. It draws power from a USB connection but, like all of Wacom's pen-based tablets, the stylus does not require power at all and can even be used if the surface of the tablet is marred. The small dimensions (6.1 inches by five inches by 0.67 inches) makes it ideal for portable or cramped-space locations.

The STU-500 ($270) is also a monochrome screen, but with a five-inch diagonal, 640x480 VGA resolution offers either serial or USB connectivity and is best for longer or broader signature requirements, such as on legal or banking documents. Its more square design (6.3 inches by 7.18 inches by one inch) feels more like signing a receipt and the area above the signature line can be used to display other information, such as a total price or menu options/soft buttons.

The last of the line is the STU-520 ($330), which boasts a 4.7 inch, 800x480 color LCD display fully capable of pushing graphics, offers, menu options and other information along with signature capture. It uses USB for power and connectivity and measures 6.3 inches by seven inches by 0.6 inches. Development environments are available for C++, .Net and Java, and the tablets all work with signature software from SoftPro, Silanis, CIC and eOriginal.

The STU-300 and STU-500 are available now, with the STU-520 arriving next month. All the tablets come with a two-year warranty.

0 Using / Configuring / Connecting (BSNL) ADSL modem / router with other Internet connection (Sify , Airtel , Digital ,Beam , Tata ,Tikona )

I used BSNL Internet via phone line through a ADSL modem ( UTSTARCOM WA3002G4 ) which has 4 Ethernet ports , 1 phone line port and 1 wifi antenna

I had to quit BSNL because of their fraud billing , which i have proved to the Junior telecom officer(J.T.O), still i received no response . Some employees also say that leave the connection if you have so many problems , as if they were doing a favor to their users  ( that was the best response i could get ) .
They are still sending bills even though my phone and Internet are disconnected .
Am using Digital Internet , it like sify where you have LAN cable directly coming to your computer.It uses web login via its IP address . They also have set a IP address and subnet mask , along with default gateways , DNS 1 and DNS 2 .
I planned to buy a router but then i recalled i had a ADSL WiFi router / modem , after seeking suggestions from few network Admin's and Google search i presumed that it won't work .
Finally i dropped to few threads where few guys said it works with Sify .

Coming to SETTINGS :

First of all reset your modem via a hole at bottom , near heat sink holes ,  a circular hole outside the square pattern of other holes .
Note down all your IP config from accessing Network and sharing settings > manage network connection > Local area network > properties > IP4 properties . Note them
Now set to obtain automatically ( U need to do this to access modem , once you are done with modem settings restore them back to same ) , you will also need them in configuring modem so preserve them .

Modem settings >
STEP 1 >>JUST connect the modem to computer via its LAN cable RJ45 ( In my case used LAN 1 port)

STEP 2>>Access settings via 192.168.1.1

STEP 3>>In modem settings go to LAN settings leave the IP and Subnet settings intact to 192.168.1.1. and whatever , just change DHCP to " Disable DHCP server" checkbox .Save it

STEP 4 >>Now in DNS  , type your primary DNS in DNS 1
 type DNS 2 in secondary DNS .Save it

STEP 5 >>Then go to routing ,
remove the automatically obtain check from checkbox " default gateway "
Add your default gateway in the box that appears below after unchecking .Save it

DO NOT FOLLOW STEP 4 & STEP 5 if you dont have any IP configuration in network settings of your computer or if it is set to " obtain automatically " .

Step 6 >> Add a security to your WAN network via Wireless section in modem settings  , try adding WPA 2 or WPA 2 PSK  , you can also use other , then AES or TKIP anything you wish to use , add a 10 digit key in numbers as required for WPA2 . Save it

STEP 7 >> Shut down the modem , restore your IP config in Network and sharing settings > manage network connection > Local area network > properties > IP4 properties .

STEP 8 >> Now connect your Internet cable (RJ45) pin to your router ( In my case used LAN 4 port)

I also use it for my smartphone HTC desire
for that i had to add the same setting i use in my LAN IP4 in my phone to access Internet i will post procedure on same in next post .
Now i can use one device at a time , as my Internet connection does not support 2 devices to access at a time , if your ISP allows this you can, but its wirelessly and i can ask Internet guys to give me the multiple device login service will post on the same in next few days .

Android's Android's and more Android's have been adopted by people over any other platform in the past year and Android still continues to develop as a platform on smartphones , TV's , home appliances . Are you wondering where next will you see the Android OS ? And the answer is in flights , Thales and Panasonic are planning to integrate Android OS in their coming in-flight touchscreen entertainment devices . Now do we need to assume the Android will also be piloting our flight any time soon , and the flights will demand an OS update rather than pilots asking for salary hikes ,sounds funny .
But this concept is going to take in-flight entertainment to higher levels and also going to benefit passengers with the wide range of services that can be integrated on Android's .

0 Galaxy Tab price seeing a drastic drift

The Galaxy Tab has been the techie attraction this week and the two most important questions were , pricing and availability which were left unanswered . Many folks balked at the listed prices, such as the GBP800 ($1,243) price tag listed by Amazon, which far more that the most expensive iPad with Wifi & 3G even though the device sports a 7 inch display .The prices significant reduced to GBP680 ($1,056), though it has since been further reduced to a more reasonable GBP600 price point. Whether the GBP600 ($932) price tag and Android 2.2 will be able to challenge Apple's iPad will remain to be seen, but it's good to see that the price of the device has been reduced, and hopefully it will be even cheaper when sold together with a carrier contract .
While the tab has been announced for all major US carriers the price will see a drastic competition and subsidy with various carriers .

Like Robots .. we love them ,  see the crazy looking bubblly creature , its Toshiba's ApriPoco robot .
