Some of the important points to take note of before you go for purchasing your device

you would prefer the same brand of  cell phone you used in past or u r a user of but dont forget to keep the track of technology u really need and don't bother your self about what the cheap vendor says about a cell phone its his business he cant help it

 
1.BUILD

First of all take a look at the build of the phone the finishing quality this makes it sturdy

phones with sliders and flips are usually more sensitive, they would give you more trouble when the warranty   period comes to and end probably after an year

2.KEYPAD

The keyboard type it uses,usually the buttons dont trouble u but , joysticks,trackballs,Dpads,touch buttons , are a sure source of trouble if not handled with care

3.BATTERY LIFE

    The gossips of the day are long battery life , usally cell phones with multimedia capabilities dont provide longer talk-time n standby ,let me clear talktime is the only the time u talk on phone continously like u do with ur girl , n standby is the one when ur phone is running but not used no calls no use of antenna

so guys forget the standby time it can be 5-30 days , only u need to care is the talktime which should be greater than 5 hrs if u r a technology freak this figure can be as low as 2.5 hrs it means ur phone is dead in 2.5 hrs . so go for a phone with high backup value check for talktime in hrs

A phone with 2.5 hrs can easily give 1 day usage under normal condition of calls

4.VISUAL DEPTH (SCREEN)

  The screen usually used is TFT and The pixels nowadays are around 16 million colours

  but in older phones are 65k (ie 65000) colours this is the minimum display u should prefer to watch videos or wallpapers n clips u record.one more thing to take care of is to see whether the screen blurrs when u press  it from the sides on the frame.This is an issue of concern this can cause severe damage to your screen if your phone is droppen on a hard surface like road or tiles.this may lead to screen  breakage, which can cost u 20% of your cell phones MRP value to get it repaired. be careful

5.SOUND CLARITY AND LOAD LEVEL ON SPEAKERS

   sound as u thing is not the loudness of the speaker only like we see in china cellphones it has to be be clear n loud . many cell phone speaker shiver at high or full volumes , usually the cell phones with too high music volume suffer from speaker problems at later stage. sony ericsson gives better quality speakers n music due to its association with sony which is a leader in music systems n accessories 

6.MICROPROCESSOR SPEED AND RAM

    The microprocessor n RAM clock speed affect the performance of the cell phone in its application speeds n various tasks. if u need a fast n furious cellphone take one which has a good internal/phone memory

this will keep the performance intact .Else when the phone memory goes low the phone's speed goes down significantly. so check it while taking the cell phone , the speed u observe in a brand new cell phone goes down by 20-60% on memory fill up , usually nokia has a s60 platform cell phones which support a wide variety of applications which use the phone memory n make cell phone a bit slow on operation

7.HEADPHONE JACK

    The head jacks used previously were 2.5 n flat pins but now we see 3.5 jacks in high demand due to there universal nature n wide applications. the problems faced in flat pins are the get  disconnected due to there loose n clumsy connectivity. this is big headache for bike drivers n jeans frak people the get unplugged in pocket n this leads to a nonsense in the environment. suppose u r sitting in a classroom n listning songs in the class of ur lecturer and it get unplugged , which makes the cell phone play from the speakers by default. and ur lecturer kicks u out of there

8.PHONE MEMORY

    keeping a good phone memory in your preferences is a good option which keeps the phone stable n good at speeds n gives an additional space for temporary internet files and applications which run only on phone memory

9.BLUETOOTH COMPATIBILITY (VERSION)

Bluetooth versions relate speeds n compatibility the latest one is Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP stereo audio and Enhanced Data Rates (EDR), but still 1.xx versions are being used by many manufacturers to keep the price of cellphones under range. the 2nd version is compatible with almost all versions but when used with some low versions gives lower speeds ,due to version incompatibility n lower rates of reception in v 1bluetooth radios .some 2.0 devices are incapable of  connecting to a audio bluetooth devices of lower versions, so check your bluetooth headsets compatibility with your cell phone before purchasing 

10.NO OF SIM IT USES

If u opt for a dual sim phone only in case u , use 2 sim's take it, else dont go for it

because they will take higher battery percentage to run because the antenna works on reception of both the signals. so single sim phones give a high battery life n perform well too. no big manufacturer , makes these sort of phones the leaders of dual sim are obviously china n china corporation :) ,fly,  spice ,samsung also has one model that is D 800  n D 400 but they are not available in stores now bcoz they have stopped production 

11.OPERATING SYSTEM OR PLATFORM

Operating system is generally the platform a phone uses to run applications like softwares games n other items. so the popular Operating systems are :- Symbian OS series60(v1,v2,v3,v4), series40(java), windows os, iphone OS, blackberry OS, linux.  The most famous OS is symbian which is used by about 85% of users all over the world. this is the most stable n cool environment which can be easily customised with lot of tools n applications

12.CAMERA PIXELS (mp) AND SHUTTER RESPONSE

 Check for the camera having higher pixels in a captured pic gives higher digital depth , the zoom of camera is limited to digital , because most of the cameras in mobile dont use optical zoom lens carl zeiss introduced this concept in mobile camera which can perform beyond normal cams

The shutter response for starting the camera should be good enough between 0-1secs if not u would miss ur best shots. nokia lacks this on many s60 v2 n v3 phones . very late response but sony n samsung work quite well on this . so check this before u get a cell phone and if u r a photography freak.

13.MAKE N VERSION( IF U ARE GOING FOR A USED CELLPHONE)

    just make sure u never buy a used stuff packed in a brand new box with changed panel of body .

    so always check the version n manufacturing date of the cell phone
